I felt like I should say something about the end of the Speak Now era. It’s 11:49 on August 12th, 2012. In just eleven minutes, August 13th will roll around- and a beautiful, amazing, diverse group of people will mourn the loss of the Speak Now era.
Speak Now taught us what to do with our fearlessness. It taught us to stand up for what we believe in and speak up for the things and people we love. It taught us love doesn’t always last forever, but when it does, we should hold on and never turn back. She taught us that stories don’t have to have happy endings for us to learn and grow from them. She taught us that someday we’ll be big enough so they can’t hit us…and all our enemies will ever be is mean. She’s touched billions of fans with her sold out shows, brilliant music videos, and heartwrenching music.
I’m ecstatic to see what Taylor has in store for us. We’ve all grown with her and I can’t wait to hear the music that will undoubtedly narrate my life for the next few years. I’m excited for new tours, new opportunities to be graced with her presence and tell her how much she means to me- to all of us.
I think it’s okay to be sad, though.
I think it’s okay to mourn the passing of something beautiful.
But just remember- there’s bigger and better things coming.
Long live the mountains we moved….Taylor fans, I absolutely have the time of my life chasing dragons with you.
Here’s to the Speak Now era.
And here’s to much, much, more.
